On behalf of the Medical University of Warsaw, the CePT Consortium and the Conference Scientific Committee it is our great pleasure to invite you to an international conference on "Opportunities and challenges in implementing best practice solutions in innovation management in Poland and Central Europe”, organized in cooperation with and under the auspices of the Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education. The event will take place on September 22-24, 2010 at the Medical University of Warsaw Academic Centre, Ks. Trojdena 2a, Warsaw, Poland.
Large-scale investments in research infrastructures executed by the New Member States and supported from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) are envisaged to stimulate not only cutting-edge science but also innovation driven research contributing to the development of a modern, competitive economy.
The aim of the conference is to identify the main opportunities and challenges for implementation in Poland, the Czech Republic and other Central European convergence regions of the best practice solutions, developed in the most innovative regions and economies of Europe. Specific conditions of the convergence regions, including low levels of R&D funding, low innovation index and limited experience in the transfer of new technologies from science to industry pose a significant threat to reaching high socio-economic impacts of the executed RI investments.
The organisers along with the European Commission, the Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education and the European Investment Bank aim to identify the main competence areas requiring focused human resource training in addition to legal, organizational and financial issues that must be resolved in order to stimulate innovation driven research.
We would be honoured and delighted if you could share your experience and expertise in the above-mentioned subject with the conference participants. We anticipate stimulating presentations and productive discussions and we look forward to welcoming you in Warsaw in September.
